A short poem on practice that occurred to me yesterday. We often do the opposite of what will actually help us.  The more I learn I live life backwards, the more healing I find.

When I Did It Differently

When befriended my loneliness I had a lifetime companion.

When I stopped being a savior I could finally help.

When I learned to be vulnerable I realized I was safe.

When I said no I was able to be genuinely kind.

When I stopped planning I knew what to do.

When I stopped blaming I became powerful.

When I accepted everything was not always supposed to be ok, everything was always ok.

When I stopped, I finally got somewhere.
