He is passionate about coaching teachers to find their individual voice and passions so they may find success and joy on their own unique teaching path.

For more on Alex’s story in his own words see below:

Without being hyperbolic, yoga literally saved my life. Yoga continues to help me grow, shift, and change to be a better human being. Yoga guided me to my life's purpose. Yoga helps me celebrate my triumphs and do better by my mistakes. The combination of yoga and energy work has helped me shift unhealthy patterns I thought were intractable. It’s something I never thought I would do, and it was one of those things that felt a little weird to me. But in late May 2004 my body and my mind were a wreck. At the age of 24 I had had a blown out knee, a severely compromised lower back, and was in a very dark depression. But through a series of serendipitous events, I found myself in a yoga class in Brookline Massachusetts. I loved it even though it was the hardest thing I ever did. I was never someone who felt athletic or graceful. In fact when I first started yoga I was so tight I couldn’t lean forward past my waist. But, there was something in the practice that spoke deeply to my body and my spirit. So I began going to yoga 4 times a week. My knee and back pain were gone in 6 months. I could breathe again. My depression lessened and I began to find joy in my life I thought had been lost forever. I did my teacher training a year later and in 2006 took the plunge to teach yoga full time.

I stumbled across Reiki in 2008 without really knowing what it was. It was one of those things that just appeared in my life and something told me to look into learning how to use this powerful energy for myself and others. I received my Level 1, Level 2, and Reiki Master Teacher certifications from my dear friend and teacher Jenè Rossi. What I loved about Reiki was its elegant simplicity and versatility. It can be used in almost any situation and any level of being and can lay the foundation for very deep and gentle healing. It is my great passion and privilege to share this form of energy work with others and teach them how to use it themselves.

Then, as I like to joke, things got "real real" as I began to notice I could sense energetic impressions from clients as I would do healing sessions. Sometimes I would get a "hit" about a past loved one, see an image in my mind, or hear a word repeated. When I'd ask my clients about them, we'd often discover it was information from their life or the life of a passed loved one. The last thing I ever thought I would do was be an intuit/medium, nevertheless it just sort of happened. It's been such a journey to learn to use this aspect of my perception to help others. It is a great humbling privilege and joy.

I currently live in Watertown Massachusetts with Bonsai, my Maine Coon cat. I teach in the Boston area as well as making frequent trips to teach in Maine and Connecticut. In the realm of non-yoga life, I'm a great lover of history and the arts and a hardcore classical music fan with a special love of Mozart, Brahms, and Sibelius.  I also do speaking work for LGBTQ advocacy groups.

"Doing private yoga and mindfulness with Alex has been my most fulfilling experience with yoga and meditation practice. His deep understanding of the differences between being and doing and patient, supportive inquisitiveness led me to my first glimpse of my own true nature - I've been striving to get back there ever since! All I have read and studied of spiritual teachers has supported what a lucky gift it was to find Alex and have his help in using yoga and meditation practice to break through the shell of thoughts so many in our culture have constructed and to feel the essence of the mind and spirit. Not to mention his knowledge of anatomy and yoga poses really helped with learning how I could compassionately address my long standing back pain. There are a million yoga teachers saying they know the deal these days, and few do - Alex is the real thing." – JC
